Debating is certainly not in my area of expertise; that is for sure. But, I do try to do a good job. This time around, I didn't do so well.

The topic we had to talk about was 'Gay marriage should be legalised', and I was on the negative side, which was annoying for me, considering I do think that Gay marriage should be legalised, so of course I wasn't pleased, but I did learn some important factors out of this.

1. Polygamy.  I spoke about this in my speech. Polygamy is the crime of wilfully and knowingly having more than one partner. According to some people, polygamous groups are just as bad as homosexual couples. Which, in some cases, is true. Around 37% of polygamous groups sleep together.

2. Health Risks.
Of course there are health risks in every sexual relationship, but it has been proven that, unless protection, gay sex can give off sexually transmitted deseases more often, such as AIDS and HIV. These diseases, and others, can result in a shorter life span than the average male; around 20 years less.

3. Suicide Attempts.
Research shows that homosexuals, whether  that being women or men, are more likely to kill themselves due to consistant bullying. Now, this is of course a sad thing. No body wants to know that they caused someone sadness and death because they believed that what the person was feeling was wrong. But, it stills happens. And, if homosexuals didn't marry, this could be avoided, or if men and men/ women and women stopped feeling for each other, this could be avoided all together.

In this unit, I didn't have much of a speech. i didn't allow myself enough time write a  longer speech with more information, or with different arguments. For this, my timing was less than 2 minutes, which is sad. I could've done better, but I didn't.

This unit has showed me that I need to be more organised with my work, and also that I need to be more open with my beliefs, and think about the other side.
